Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 was pretty productive... got a lot of homey stuff I asked for, but that's what I wanted, so don't think I'm weird or that my family doesn't love me, because it's not true, they got me what I wanted! :)

From my mom:
Bissel Spot Cleaner (forget the exact name) for the carpet. It's a powerful machine that covers this large circle, so when the animals make a mess, I load it up, plug it in, push the button for surface stain or set in stain, and then 3-6 minutes later that spot is carpet cleaned and looking awesome again. Love it. The day after I got it one of our dogs threw up on the carpet, so I've already had the chance to test it out and can verify it works great!

From my in-laws:
Fabric Steamer - I originally got one like 4 years ago at my bridal shower, but then this past year I loaned it to someone I can't remember and it's been missing ever since and not looking like it's ever coming home. So I asked for a new one and this one they got me is better than the last one I had, so that's exciting!
Set of twelve 17 oz glasses - our glasses have slowly been cracking / breaking over the years we've had them, so I asked for glasses since we needed new ones, and I got some :)
Body Scale with BMI / Bone Density / Body Fat / Water Content measurements - we've never owned a scale since being on our own, so I really wanted one so I could finally watch my weight properly and not rely on the often wrong Wii Fit board (the Wii Fit usually thinks I weigh less than I do by many lbs, so that's no good for watching your weight, sure it makes you feel great, but it's lying to you!)
Harry Potty & the Half Blood Prince on Blu-Ray

From Joel:
Natural (not lab created) sapphire ring and sapphire necklace. Both also have diamonds accenting them. In the past Joel has only gotten me lab created sapphire, so this was very thoughtful of him to save up for some real sapphires for me! They're both very pretty, and I can't wait to get the ring back from the jewelers so I can start wearing it! (It had to be sized)

Meanwhile, Joel got some movies which I'll post about here because one of us getting movies is really like both of us getting movies after all :) He got:
The Ultimate Matrix Boxset on Blu-Ray - all three movies and the animatrix on Blu-Ray. We already owned all these on DVD, but as his favorite movies (after Star Wars) he reallllly wanted this on Blu-Ray and his parents got it for him.
The Proposal on DVD (yes Joel, not me, asked for this, lol, he thinks it's hilarious)
National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets on Blu-Ray
Star Trek on Blu-Ray - funny story here, we technically didn't get this DVD, we actually got National Treasure 2 from BOTH his mom and my mom (both gave it to him) so he returned one of the copies to walmart and we replaced it with Star Trek.

A very good Christmas of gifts! We'll probably get a couple more things when we go to Michigan this week to see the rest of his family... and my mom also sent us some large and heavy box with other Christmas gifts in it that will arrive later this week...but so far that's what the holiday season has brought to our home :)
